Nancy Yeang is a writer living in Southern California. Currently, she is an Advancement Communications Specialist at Cal Poly Pomona.
Prior to this position, she was a Senior Associate at VMA Communications. She provided effective media relations, public affairs and community outreach campaigns for the firm’s education clients, and produces high-quality collateral materials that highlight their successes.
Nancy has extensive experience in the media landscape with a background in newspapers, magazines and television production. She covered city government, education and crime beats in Beverly Hills and the Inland Empire for Beverly Hills Weekly, City News Group and The Breeze. She also covered arts and entertainment in Los Angeles for Guest of a Guest, L.A. Her short stories have been published in Montage Magazine, the base line magazine and The Chaffey Review.
Under her leadership as producer for the public affairs program Beverly Hills View, the segment won two STAR awards and featured notable guests, including former Los Angeles County Supervisors Yvonne Burke and Zev Yaroslavsky, and former Congressman Henry Waxman.
Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine, and spent nearly three years teaching English abroad in Japan and Cambodia.
